In the Psychology program at UNB’s Fredericton campus, you’ll explore human behavior- our desires, impulses, actions and emotions- in the context of the science that drives it.
The Psychology program will prepare you for a variety of careers including policymaking at the local, national or global level, or professional programs in a range of healthcare areas such as neuropsychology, speech and language pathology, or medicine.
You’ll have the opportunity complete courses in:
Cognitive neuroscience (the connection between the brain and behavior)
Drugs and behavior
Physiological psychology
Surveys of the senses
Laboratory courses that allow for more intensive study
The Psychology program is available as a major, double major, minor or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Science degree.
The Faculty of Science is one of the university’s oldest faculties and was established when UNB was founded in 1785.

Students must complete high school for admission to the University of New Brunswick. They must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice. UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student’s "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.
Course requirements:
Senior English Literature
Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus
1 other academic maths
Senior Chemistry
1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences)
1 elective from group 1 or 2
Minimum admission average: 75% (The average marks in Pre-Calculus Math, Chemistry and the best other Science course must be at least 75 %.)
The University of New Brunswick accepts qualified applicants from all countries. Entry requirements may vary from country to country.
International students require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, CAEL 60, or Pearson Vue Test 59.
