The program is offered on campus in Saskatoon (on campus courses are listed below in the Courses section), and online.

The Occupational Health and Safety certificate program consists of:

14 theory-based courses
5 "Train the Trainer" electives (students are required to complete one of five)
an 80-hour two-week practicum

The practicum provides a hands-on look at the day-to-day operations of a workplace, its safety management system and the role of Occupational Health and Safety professionals.

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) recognizes Saskatchewan Polytechnic Occupational Health and Safety Certificate as meeting the formal education requirements for certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), or the Pathway C education requirements for certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST).

Grade 12

International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Academic Module: Overall minimum score of Band 6.5 with a minimum score of 5.0 in each component.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - An overall minimum score of 81 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT), with a minimum score of 19 in each of reading, listening, speaking and writing..

TOEFL - Paper-based: Minimum test score of 550 with a minimum TWE of 3.5 and a minimum TSE of 50.

Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST): Minimum score of 4.5 in each of listening and reading, a minimum score of 4.0 in speaking, and a minimum score of 4.0 in writing

Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL CE and Online): Minimum score of 60 with a minimum score of 50 in each component. (CE and Online accepted).

University of Cambridge Assessment English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: Minimum grade of C1

Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA) - A minimum score of 63 with minimum component scores of 50.

Duolingo English Test: A minimum overall score of 105 on the online Duolingo English Test as the equivalent to the minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5

International Baccalaureate (IB) English A1 or A2: Successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, including higher level English with a minimum grade of 4
