Marine Mechanical Design (MMD) is a three-year technology program and a versatile, all-encompassing technical program that provides students with the mechanical design skills necessary to excel in both marine and land based industries.Marine mechanical design graduates learn how to apply engineering and architectural principles, in the elite production areas of piping, propulsion and other mechanical systems that operate ships, drilling platforms and subsea structures.Program StructureThe program consists of six (6) 13 week academic terms and three (3) 5 week technical terms.Skills and InterestsYou’re a versatile problem solver, using math and science to develop effective engineering design solutions for marine and land-based industries.Work EnvironmentWorldwide opportunities for office-based design work and on-site consultation.Program Location:Marine Institute Campus, Ridge Road (St. John's)Program Length:Three yearsThree technical sessions
