Durham College’s (DC) Electric Drive Vehicle Technician (EDVT) Ontario college diploma program is one of only two offered in the province and prepares students to enter the in-demand field of clean transport – the fastest growing industry in Canada’s clean energy sector. As investments in Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure and manufacturing continue to rise, so does DC’s commitment to preparing the next generation of skilled trades graduates. The unique and specialized curriculum of the EDVT program:Provides students with the technical knowledge necessary to diagnose, repair and service key components of high voltage systems used in electric and hybrid vehicles.Offers extensive hands-on and experiential learning opportunities with local community partners, including a 56-hour EV capstone project.Prepares students to apply problem-solving strategies associated with software, firmware and hardware used in automotive EV architecture.
