After your first year, you can continue with BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science route, or specialise through one of our pathways in:* Medical Biochemistry: explore how biochemical processes affect human health and investigate the causes and diagnosis of disease.* Medical Microbiology: study the microorganisms responsible for infectious diseases, how they interact with the body, and the strategies used to diagnose, treat, and control them.* Molecular Biotechnology: investigate genetics, gene technologies, and molecular advances that are transforming disease diagnosis and treatment.* Pharmacological Sciences: discover how medicines work, how new drugs are developed, and the science behind treating disease safely and effectively.* Applied Biomedical Science\*: apply to complete a 45-week placement in an NHS pathology laboratory after your second year.
