The MSc Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing) is deivered on a hybrid learning basis (combining online and face-to-face learning) and is designed for registered nurses and midwives who are committed to iproving the health and wellbeing of children and young people.The course is grounded in work-based learning and will support you as you develop into a autonomous public health practitioner. You will strengthen your expertise in safeguarding and child protection, early intervention, child and adolescent health, emotional and physical wellbeing, and tackling health inequalities, while building leadership, critical thinking, and evidence-informed decision-making skills. Academic learning is integrated with practice and supported by experienced academic staff, with guidance in the workplace from Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors who understand the realities of School Nursing.Aligned with professional and regulatory standards, the MSc prepares you for autonomous Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) roles in School Nursing. At the end of your studies, you will be equipped to lead and influence public health practice, reduce health inequalities, and work effectively across multi-agency systems to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families at local, regional, and national levels.

provide an up-to-date Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG)(Scotland) or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)(England, Wales, Northern Ireland) (or equivalent check)

supply a personal statement in support of your application

supply a professional reference demonstrating a level of proficiency appropriate to the degree

You must be employed (or have confirmation of an employment offer) within a practice learning environment that offers sufficient learning opportunities to enable the achievement of the standards of proficiency for your intended field of SCPHN practice (NMC 2023).
