OverviewHealth care support technicians are health professionals certified or licensed in multiple practice skills and are qualified to perform tasks specific to their certification or licensure. This program prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the diverse health and wellness needs of the population. Graduates may be employed as a Phlebotomist, EKG Technician, General or Limited X-ray Machine Operator, State Tested Nurse Aide, Central Service Technician, Patient Care Technician, Medication Aide, Electronic Health Records Specialist, or Health Unit Coordinator, in accordance with their certification or licensure.CareerThis program would provide students with the opportunity for stackable credentials to allow them to enter the health care workforce in a variety of settings. Graduates may be employed in hospitals, clinics, physician's offices, health departments, long term care facilities, and home health care agencies.
