The Atmospheric Science program is a leader in weather and climate education and research. Unique experiential learning programs, including Innovative Weather and study-abroad to in Mexico, provide students with hands-on experience in forecasting, risk assessment, research and communication.The program offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Undergraduates are prepared for a private- or public-sector career, graduate study, or employment as a National Weather Service meteorologist. Graduate student research specializations include climate variability, numerical modeling, atmospheric dynamics, mesoscale and synoptic meteorology, air-pollution meteorology, and data analytics.
