The BA and MA degree programs normally require 153 hours to complete, 120 credit hours for the undergraduate degree and 33 credit hours for the graduate degree. However, qualified students may count a maximum of 9 graduate credit hours towards both degrees. Students complete the undergraduate degree first, taking no more than 9 credit hours of graduate coursework, which will then be used to satisfy both degrees. Earn an MA with only one additional year of study after you earn your bachelor’s degree in English. Use undergraduate financial aid and/or scholarships as partial payment for three graduate courses.

Admissions decisions at UNF are rendered based on academic merit. The state of Florida has implemented minimum admission standards for freshman applicants to all Florida public state universities. In order to be considered, students must have a minimum 2.5 recalculated GPA on a 4.0 scale and meet minimum test score requirements.Regardless of when they graduated from high school, students applying as first-time-in-college (FTIC) applicants are required to submit either SAT, ACT and/or CLT test scores. UNF does not require the essay section of the SAT or ACT.A minimum TOEFL score of 79 internet-based (550 paper-based or 213 computer-based) A band score of 6.5 on the University of Cambridge IELTS
