The Department of English at UIC is the largest humanities unit in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Not only do we graduate the largest numbers of humanities majors and run one of the largest graduate programs, but we are also responsible for the First-Year Writing Program, which serves almost every undergraduate student across the colleges at UIC.
