With the world languages and cultures major, you will build the language skills and cultural understanding necessary to succeed in today's multicultural workplaces. Explore the world through language. With this program, you’ll build strong speaking, writing and cross-cultural skills while studying French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.Along the way, you can apply your skills through study abroad, career-connected experiences in Lowell’s multicultural neighborhoods, and community partnerships with schools, health centers, museums and local organizations. Many students choose to enhance their degree by adding a double major. You’ll also have the opportunity to publish your work in the department’s online journal, Canal. You’ll graduate ready for careers in fields such as business, education, health care, government, translation and international programs-areas that value strong language skills and cultural understanding.
