Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the business administration program at SIUE provides a broad education in the functional areas of modern business. The specialization in economics provides students with knowledge of analytical methods for solving basic problems affecting profit and growth of the business organization. In addition, economics offers courses that are fundamental to forecasting, planning, and budgeting. To graduate with this specialization, students must achieve a GPA of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale in all economics courses.

Students seeking a bachelors degree from SIUE who have never attended a college or university, and those who may have taken some coursework at a college or university outside the U.S. but do not currently hold a bachelors degree must submit official records showing grades for all years of secondary/high school AND official exam results or certificate/diploma. Applicants who have attempted at least 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of college-level transfer credit (either from the U.S. or abroad) are not required to provide secondary school records.
