In one of the top-ranked forestry programs in the nation for quality and value, your research takes you outside from day one as you study with world-class faculty. Whether in the Experimental Forest, Pitkin Forest Nursery or at the McCall Field Campus along Payette Lake, our students learn in the diverse landscapes of Idaho and the Inland Northwest. As a forestry major pursuing a general emphasis, you’ll learn about forest ecosystems, regeneration, plant pathology, policy and the business side of forestry. Accredited by the Society of American Foresters, our program has trained forestry leaders for over 100 years. Graduates are in high demand with the forest industry and natural resource agencies, including the U.S. Forest Service and Idaho Department of Lands.
