Illinois Tech’s Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Master of Science in Biology for the Health Professions accelerated master's degree program allows students the unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in biology to improve the competitiveness for students looking to enter medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or optometry school while completing both degrees in as few as five years. Students will learn to apply the principles and tools of traditional engineering fields with chemical, physical, and biological sciences, specifically those used to acquire advanced training in biology that will prove beneficial within health professions. This program provides the skills, knowledge, and experiences to open doors to career opportunities. Coursework for this degree program may include biochemistry, molecular and developmental biology, and biostatistics. Build a foundation in biomedical engineering during the undergraduate portion of this program and prepare for advanced biology work in the fourth year. This program will provide the skills, knowledge, and experiences to prepare students for the health professions.
