BS Marine Biology

The marine biology curriculum fulfills basic requirements for admission into graduate and professional schools. It also may serve as a terminal degree, with which to enter the job market. The program includes a laboratory field experience. To participate in any field experience, a student must have earned a 2.25 in biology course work and be in good academic standing. The Department of Biological Sciences is an integral part of the liberal arts tradition for well over two-thousand years. Our mission is to provide the science component of the liberal arts education for all students as well as the professional training for its majors. We are committed to providing students with a solid foundation in both the theoretical concepts and practical applications of science. The graduates will be well prepared to further their education in graduate or professional schools or to pursue a variety of careers in biological, chemical, pharmaceutical, or marine sciences.
