Applicants for admission to the M.M. or D.M.A. degree programs in performance or Graduate Artist Certificate in Music Performance (GAC) must pass an admission audition before a faculty panel.Apply for admission to UNT through the Toulouse Graduate School (tgs.unt.edu).Apply for admission to the College of Music through the online application for admission, audition, scholarship, fellowship and assistantshipsSubmit the following materials through the music application:​A resumeThree letters of recommendation by persons who know the applicant personally, professionally and academically.Examples of scholarly writing; a research paper, a published article, or an essay that demonstrates the ability to address significant issues pertaining to the area of study.Statement of personal interest, to include a statement indicating reasons for interest in pursuing graduate study in the chosen field.Evaluation of transcripts from previous degree(s): N.B. Please DO NOT send transcripts to the College of Music. They are part of your application to UNTs Toulouse Graduate School. After Toulouse evaluates your documents, they will forward copies to the College of Music for review. Your transcripts will be evaluated and notification of required leveling courses will be sent by the Graduate Studies Office after you receive notice of your admission.Composition portfolio (required for all Ph.D. with a concentration in Composition applicants)Effective for the Fall 2024 admission cycle, we no longer require submission of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or UNT Graduate Writing Exam
