The Healthful Living and Fitness Education major is designed for students wanting to enter K‑12 teaching in healthful living and fitness education or the health, wellness and fitness industries. You complete core major courses and then choose from one of two specialty options: K-12 Teacher Licensure Specialty or Lifetime Fitness & Health Specialty.Fitness and health professionals have a range of opportunities for employment. From corporate settings to health care facilities to high‑energy gyms and fitness centers, there is a work environment for all personality types. Many graduates choose to continue their education by pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree to advance their knowledge in the field.
