The School of Information's Master or Arts in Library and Information Science program is accredited by the American Library Association . The program focuses on information organization, digital information, health sciences, law and culture. Students prepare for careers in libraries, museums, archives, government and business information centers. This degree program is a total of 37 units.

Admission to the Library and Information Science Master’s degree program is granted by the director of the School of Information, upon recommendation of the School of Information Admissions Committee and the Graduate College. To be admitted, you must meet the requirements of both the Graduate College and School of Information. These include:

International Applicants: Per immigration regulations, students admitted to a graduate program must enroll in a total of 9 units, of which 6 of those units must be courses taught in-person and only 3 online units may be used toward full-time enrollment.
