The Master of Engineering (ME) in Civil & Environmental Engineering is a non-thesis, course-only professional degree designed to provide advanced technical knowledge for professional practice. Students pursue advanced study in structural, environmental, geotechnical, and hydraulic and water resources engineering.The program requires completion of 30 credit hours of graduate coursework, including at least 18 credit hours within the School and a minimum of 15 credit hours at the 500 level completed at SIU. Students complete CE 593 (Civil Engineering Project) or an additional 500-level course.This accelerated program may be completed in three semesters and is intended for students seeking professional advancement rather than research or Ph.D. preparation.If you are looking to continue your education with an advanced degree in civil and environmental engineering at the Master’s level, we offer two programs: 1) Master of Science in Civil Engineering and 2) Master of Engineering degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.The graduate programs are designed to provide advanced courses and research opportunities in the areas of structural engineering, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and water resources engineering.
