Master of Music in Conducting

The Conducting and Large Ensembles area serves the needs of all students in the School. All undergraduate music students are required by the National Association of Schools of Music to participate regularly in ensembles that allow growth in artistry technical skills collaborative competence and knowledge of repertoire. Graduate conducting programs prepare students for careers as professional choral wind or orchestra conductors and serve as enhancement for teachers in secondary and higher education settings. Faculty in Conducting and Large Ensembles have conducted professional semi professional and college ensembles all over the country and throughout the world. They have also published numerous articles and are regularly invited through professional organizations and others in higher education to serve as conductors consultants and clinicians. Degrees offered in the Conducting area are Master of Music in Conducting wind choral and orchestral and Doctor of Music in Conducting wind choral and orchestral.
