Lamar University's Master of Science in Environmental Studies is a hybrid engineering-environmental science degree. Your coursework will prepare you for a career in environmentally-related engineering disciplines having to do with air and water quality and other environmental systems in industry. This program differs from the environmental science programs in that it contains a focused engineering component. Compared to the environmental engineering programs, it includes a broader scientific perspective on industry's responsibility to preserve and protect our planet's natural resources as it utilizes them. LU's small class sizes allow professors to engage with you on a personal basis. We also have a bi-annual career fair to bring local industry and students together for co-op and career opportunities. Our department will provide you with high quality and accessible education, engage and empower you with skills and knowledge to thrive in your professional career and foster economic and technological development of Southeast Texas and beyond.
