The Statistics and Data Science Graduate Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program is a unique program designed to strengthen statistics and data science training and research. Our mission is to prepare the next generation of statisticians and data scientists to meet challenges of modern data-centric science and industry by equipping you with a robust foundation in statistical theory and methodologies, as well as advanced skills in statistical computing, machine learning and AI tools in the realm of data science. Additionally, you will acquire hands-on experience through practical, transdisciplinary research spanning a diverse range of domain sciences and industrial applications.

For admission to the Ph.D. Program in Statistics & Data Science, applicants must have or be in the process of completing an M.S. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics, or an advanced degree in a field that makes significant use of quantitative methods, with at least a 3.0 overall grade point average (GPA). A student who wishes to apply to the Ph.D. program without an M.S. and with only a Baccalaureate degree may do so, but is required to meet all other M.S. and Ph.D. entrance requirements as stipulated herein.
