The Doctor of Philosophy in Information & Communication Technology program is aimed at providing prospective candidates with the ability to develop new/novel knowledge and expand existing knowledge and application of computing solutions in the organization, society, and worldwide. It exposes the practitioners/researchers to advanced study and training in research, culminating in the submission of a thesis. This program intends to develop research capability, creativity, and ability to collate the results of the research work and to present them in a clear manner, as well as demonstrate knowledge of the literature of the subject.

A Masters degree in Computing or related fields as accepted by UNITEN Senate; OR A Masters degree in Non-Computing fields with a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in Computing or related fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by UNITEN; OR A Masters degree in Non-Computing fields with less than five (5) years of working experience in Computing or related fields must undergo a thorough rigorous assessment as determined by UNITEN to identify appropriate prerequisite courses equivalent to their working experience; OR Other qualifications equivalent to a Masters degree in Computing or related fields recognized by the Government of Malaysia as equivalent to the above requirement. A student who does not meet the English language requirement is required to enroll in the English proficiency courses offered by UNITEN. A bachelors degree with the following conditions: A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields with first-class (CGPA of 3.67 or higher) or its equivalent from an academic or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program; Undergo internal assessment; and Any other requirements of UNITEN Bachelors degree candidates who are registered for masters degree programs may apply to convert to the doctoral degree programs subjected to the following conditions: Within 1 year for full time and within 2 years for part-time candidates; Having shown competency and capability in conducting research at doctoral level through rigorous internal evaluation by UNITEN; and Approval of UNITEN Senate First Page of Passport Certified true copies of high school certificates, diploma certificates, and/or transcripts (to be translated into English by a certified translator if not originally in English).
