Apa yang akan saya pelajari?

The SMU Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Economics is a two-year research Master’s programme. It integrates rigorous coursework with a research component. The coursework brings students to the frontier of Economics knowledge, while the thesis gives students the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the research frontier.MPhil students are given flexibility in the way they organise their coursework and the writing of their thesis over the two years of the programme to best fit their objective, be it to continue their studies with a PhD or to enter the labour force upon graduation.Application period: 1 August (prior year) to 31 December (prior year)

Our formal requirements for MPhil are:

A strong Bachelor or Master degree

Bachelor or master degree in Economics (or related fields) with considerable mathematics and statistics, and with evidence of research potential. We do accept students with non-economics background – there are generally students from disciplines with a heavy mathematics component (engineering, physics, math/stats majors)

Excellent GRE or GMAT scores

Applicants from SMU, National University of Singapore (NUS), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with strong economics and technical backgrounds and excellent CGPAs may use their undergraduate/masters transcript as an alternative to the GRE/GMAT.
