BA (Hons) 3D Creative Practice is a studio-based course that gives you the freedom to explore a wide range of materials, processes and craft practices, including ceramics, metalwork, jewellery, wood, textiles, digital technologies and mixed media.\\Whether you choose to specialise in a particular material or discipline, or work across a range of creative practices, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own unique approach to making. Through hands-on projects, material exploration, conceptual development and critical reflection, you’ll build technical skills, creative confidence and a distinctive body of work that reflects your interests and ambitions.\\Supported by experienced tutors and industry-active practitioners, you’ll engage with contemporary creative practice while exploring the cultural, historical, environmental and professional contexts that shape the creative industries today. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate on real-world projects, exhibit your work and develop the research, digital and professional skills needed for a changing creative landscape.\\By the time you graduate, you’ll have a strong creative identity, technical confidence and a professionally focused portfolio, preparing you for a career in the creative industries, independent practice, or postgraduate study.**Modules**The modules are broken down into 3 types:Studio Practice\Ideas, making and materials leading you to create your own 3D Design or Creative Practice.Contextual Studies\Critical, historical, and theoretical learning that informs your making and thinking.Professional Development\Industry, business, and professional experience that supports you to direct your own progression.\\*Subject to revalidation\Our Open University-validated courses are subject to the University’s regular re-validation process, which takes place every five years. This ensures our programmes remain current and continue to reflect the latest employer and industry needs. As part of this process, modules may be updated and, in some cases, course titles may change. While this course is shown as ‘subject to re-validation’, the programmes listed have been successfully delivered for many years and it is intended to continue for 2027 and beyond. We will keep applicants informed of any changes arising from the revalidation process, and the information published on our website will always reflect the latest information available.
