Applied Statistics MSc

University of Southampton

The MSc Applied Statistics provides intensive training in statistical methods equipping you to analyse large data sets and solve real-world problems. You’ll build a strong foundation in probability, statistics, and data science, and then apply modern techniques to practical challenges.Through compulsory modules, you’ll cover core topics such as statistical computing, data science, and fundamental theory. These form the basis for more advanced and specialised modules in areas like:generalised linear modelsBayesian and likelihood inferencestatistical computing with R/Pythoncompute intensive methodsanalysis of complex survey datamodelling longitudinal and multilevel dataelements of data science foundations and supervised machine learning
