Applicants must have three A levels at grade ABB or equivalent, preferably in Humanities subjects. A Level History, Medieval History, or Ancient History is preferred, but applications are welcome from candidates who can demonstrate an interest in and aptitude for the study of history and anthropology. Acceptable A level subjects include Ancient History, Anthropology, Archaeology, Business Studies, Classical Civilisation, Drama and Theatre Studies, Economics, English Language, English Language and Literature, English Literature, Environmental Studies, Geography, Government and Politics, History, History of Art, Law, Medieval History, Modern or Classical Languages, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies, and Sociology. Applicants not taking A Level History must hold GCSE History at grade 7 and at least one humanities subject at A level or equivalent. The International Baccalaureate requires 6, 5, 5 in Higher Level subjects with 32 points overall. BTEC qualifications are accepted, including the BTEC Extended Diploma at grade DDD, the BTEC Diploma at DD with an accompanying A level at grade B, and the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma at grade D with two A levels at grades A and B.
