This degree builds on the industry-recognised HNC/D programmes. All first year entrants will start on the HNC and the entry requirements are therefore for this programme. Successful completion will allow you to progress to the second year of the HND. Following achievement of the HND, you can progress to the third year of the degree. Applicants already holding a relevant HNC qualification can apply for direct entry to the second year. When completing your application make sure you choose year two. Applicants already holding a relevant HND qualification can apply for direct entry to year three, again where this is the case please make sure you choose year three when completing your application.This honours degree gives you the opportunity to acquire skills and develop your individual creative identity within the emerging practices of contemporary art.The BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices attracts students from HND programmes throughout Scotland, such as Contemporary Art, Art, Photography, and Design.Unique in Scotland, the course is delivered by local and international practicing artist educators, and has a firm focus on employability.Working through a range of practical projects, you will gain valuable experience of many of the professional contexts in which artists work, such as: collaborative projects, participatory art, community art, digital art, relational practices, curation, art and education and public art.The course will equip you with the creative integrity to enable you to operate collaboratively and demonstrate the value you can add to contemporary art practices that impact upon society.
