Learn about the design and operation of processes for making products such as fuels, medicines, plastics, food and materials for high technology industries. Between years two and three you'll take a paid placement in the chemical engineering industry, putting your academic studies into context and making you even more employable.You'll study in Sheffield for your first two years, learning about the design and operation of processes for making a wide range of products on which everyone's standard of living depends.These include food, fuels, medicines, plastics and the basic materials for high technology industries. You'll also learn about the production and use of energy.Our graduates work across all fields of chemical engineering, including biological and pharmaceutical engineering and are and are well-equipped for a future in digital manufacturing.We place significant emphasis on learning through practical experience. You'll develop practical skills and build up experience through lab work, projects and open-ended problem solving. Industry placement
