This degree programme combines subjects across film, media and journalism, including audio and visual production, digital media, film theory, and cultural studies. You will develop skills and techniques to produce media material as well as essential key skills for many of the creative industries. This course will equip you with a solid grounding in the theoretical, technical and practical skills required to make you a sought-after professional in these fields. Our Creative Arts BA degree will equip you with the skills you need to forge a career in media, film and journalism. This exciting degree course is aimed at students who want to make a profession of their passion by attaining a theoretical grounding and historical understanding of how the news, film and media industry work, as well as being equipped with a broad range of production skills within different areas of the media, including documentary filmmaking, screenwriting and documentary filmmaking.As well as keeping you up-to-date with the fast-changing world of multimedia practice, it will introduce you to a broad range of theoretical perspectives that will enrich your research. The aim will be to give you the confidence and self-reliance to excel and adapt to an exciting field which is always on the move.Taught by leading analyst and practitioners, staff within the School regularly engage with research in drama, film, music research, advertising, media regulation, political communication, privacy, digital journalism, gender, visual culture, gaming, global media, social networks, publishing and documentary to name a few. Many of the teaching staff are also practicing professionals and consultants.Nestled in a breath-taking location between the Snowdonia Mountains and the sea, Bangor is also the perfect place to get out and about and find news stories or create your own media productions.
