It uses chemistry to analyse substances, interpret evidence, and support legal and criminal justice processes. At the University of Lincoln, MChem Forensic Chemistry combines advanced chemistry with specialist forensic applications. You'll study core areas including organic, inorganic, analytical, and physical chemistry, while exploring how chemical science is used in toxicology, drug analysis, trace evidence, environmental forensics, and instrumental analysis. At Lincoln, MChem Forensic Chemistry keeps Chemistry at the core and threads forensic applications through the programme. With its accreditation by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the MChem route gives students additional time to develop independence, professional confidence, and advanced scientific judgement, while keeping career routes open across forensic, analytical, industrial, and research settings. This integrated master's degree allows you to progress from undergraduate study into advanced-level learning and substantial research within one course. You'll develop laboratory, analytical, data, and research skills valued across forensic science, pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, chemical analysis, and scientific research. If you are fascinated by chemistry and want to apply it to real investigative and analytical challenges, this course can help you build the technical confidence and professional skills employers look for.
