This programme is delivered in partnership with Bromley Schools Collegiate, giving you the opportunity to train within one of three schools:
Ashton on Mersey School Orpington Primary or Orpington Secondary. This course is open to those preparing to teach in either primary or secondary education, making it a flexible pathway into the profession.
If you're looking to train at a different school but would still like to complete a school-based teacher training course that leads to QTS, then please view our School-Based course.
What you’ll learn Develop effective classroom practice through immersive school-based training. Enhance your understanding of inclusive teaching across primary and secondary phases. Apply research-informed strategies that will positively impact children's learning. Explore the connections between policy, theory, and everyday practice. Become a confident communicator who can work collaboratively and professionally with both your students and fellow staff members. You’ll spend the majority of your time immersed in school life, developing classroom practice under the guidance of expert mentors, whilst also benefiting from academic support, taught sessions, and tutorials at the University. This dual focus ensures you gain both the practical skills and critical understanding of how research, policy, and practice shape education.
Successful completion leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with the option to gain a PGCE by undertaking additional academic assignments and gaining Master’s level credits.
With strong employability outcomes and personalised support, you’ll be fully prepared for your first role as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) and future progression in the profession.
