This Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Education (PGCert HE) combines NHS-based practice with academic expertise to help you become a confident, effective educator.This one-year, part-time programme is delivered in collaboration with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) and the University of Reading's Institute of Education (IoE). The course is also accredited by the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME), ensuring it meets professional standards for healthcare education.The programme is aimed at staff across and beyond the Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Integrated Care System, including those who have a teaching role or responsibility for the development of other healthcare professionals, such as:allied health professionalspharmacistsnursesdoctors.Multidisciplinary cohortA distinctive feature of the course is its multidisciplinary cohort, allowing students to learn with and from colleagues across a wide range of medical, nursing, pharmacy and allied health disciplines.The sessions will draw upon workplace practices, enabling you to connect learning to your role as a healthcare educator.The programme combines academic theory with practical application, ensuring that learning can be applied in your professional context. By the end of the programme, you will have the knowledge, skills and confidence to design, deliver and evaluate effective healthcare education initiatives, with the support of experienced academic and clinical tutors and access to a range of teaching resources, including materials filmed at RBFT.
