You'll study the same core psychology curriculum as students on our BSc Psychology degree, while following a counselling pathway that allows you to explore counselling theories and perspectives through specialist modules. You'll examine areas such as identity, relationships, emotions, resilience and wellbeing, building a strong foundation in psychological science alongside an appreciation of counselling theory and practice.Learning extends beyond the purely theoretical through practical activities and counselling skills sessions that allow you to develop the capacities required by psychologists and counsellors. You may also choose to undertake an optional placement year before your final year.Alongside subject knowledge, you'll develop valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, research, reflection and understanding people.
