Anthropology encompasses the study of human beings both past and present. Anthropologists seek to understand the diversity and complexity of human experiences across time and space, including social structures, cultural practices, beliefs, languages, biological characteristics and historical development. Our faculty expertise is in archaeology and sociocultural and biological anthropology. Field work and hands-on experience are significant parts of the program. Understanding human organization, communication and behavior opens doors to careers in government, business, education, nonprofit, the arts and more. Students who plan early can earn both a bachelor’s and master’s in five years.
