Discoveries in chemistry research can improve lives and solve problems of global importance. Our Chemistry MRes enables you to join a team of researchers aiming to address issues from environmental degradation to age-related illness, exploring the ways science can make peoples’ lives better. Our researchers are experts in their fields, with strengths in medicinal, environmental, materials and analytical chemistry research. You will be attached to one or more of our research groups, working alongside postdoctoral and other postgraduate researchers with shared interests. Working with your supervisor, you’ll design and undertake a substantial research project which provides a real intellectual challenge and shows the relevance of scientific research to industry. You’ll demonstrate your creativity and initiative, and gain advanced knowledge of techniques such as chromatography spectroscopy and electroanalysis as you build confidence and independence as a researcher.
